The Lezaks
Alan Lezak
Alan Lezak (son of Leonard and Gladys) and his wife, Merle (Zoller),
grew up within blocks of one another in "the manor" on Chicago's far south
side, but did not meet until both were students at the University of Illinois
in Champaign- Urbana. following his graduation in 1964, Alan joined his father
in the boning business, then known as L&L Provisions, and took over the
company when Leonard died in 1975. For many years, Alan has served on the
Board of Directors of Rush North Shore Hospital in Skokie, where, in 1996,
he and Merle dedicated an aquarium in honor of his mother and in memory of
his father and Merle's parents, Gert and Reuben Zoller. Alan is a motorcycle
enthusiast and gadget collector extraordinaire. He and Merle travel frequently
between homes in Chicago and Scottsdale, Arizona, and a timeshare in St.
Maartin.
Anne Lezak
Anne
Lezak (daughter of Sid and Muriel Lezak), graduated from the University of
Oregon and earned a master's degree at Lewis & Clark University. She
worked at the National Instituteof Mental Health in Washington, D.C., in
connection with a Presidential Management Intership, then became coordinator
for the program for the Homeless Mentally Ill. She is a mental health consultant
and grant writer in Mendon, Vermont, where her husband, Harry Chen, is an
emergency medicine physician. Harry, a faculty member at the University of
Vermont Medical School, also serves on the local school board. Previously
he taught at George Washington University Medical School in Washington D.C.
Like Anne and Harry, Their children, Adrian, Alyssa and Laurel, are outdoor
enthusiastic. Adrian, who is heavily into computers, is a voracious reader
who also enjoys mountain biking. Alyssa is very artistic and creative, but
finds time to swim competitively, specializing in the 50-yard breast stroke.
Laurel, who enjoys writing poems and stories, also loves art and nature.
Annie Lezak
Annie
Lezak (Albert's widow), lives with Dawn and Michael Falls, and is known
affectionately to everyone in the neighborhood as "Bubbe." By being there
to welcome the children home from school, cheer enthusiastically at ball
games, and otherwise help to keep the household running smoothly, Annie enables
Dawn to work full time at nursing.

Lezak (son of Meyer and Mary) and his wife, Laurie (Stein), live in Deerfield,
Illinois and are the parents of Russell and Ted. Barry and Harvey are principals
in Moo & Oink, in partnership with their cousins, Mort and Barry Levy.

Lezak (son of Marvin and sylvia Lezak) and his wife Laurie (Kaufer), live
in Southern California with their twins, Matthew and Bradley. He is vice
president of marketing in a commercial real estate firm. Laurie is a registered
nurse whose specialty is labor and delivery. Brian attended Lewis & Clark
in Portland, Oregon, where, inspired by his Grandpa Nate's stories about
Russia, he studied eastern European history and the Russian language. In
1987 he traveled through the former Soviet Union, but was unable to make
any Lezak family connections.
David Lezak
David
Lezak (son of Sid and Muriel) is a physicist and the CEO of Wygant Scientific,
a developer of digitized voice communications systems, in Portland, Oregon.
He earned an undergraduate degree at the University of Chicago and a PhD
in physics at Portland State University. His wife, Brigid Flanigan, who develops
assisted living housing for the elderly, attended Brown University and received
a master's at MIT. During the Nixon Administration, when Sid, a Democrat
was a U.S. Attorney, Brigid's father, Peter Flanigan, was a White House staff
member who helped compile President Nixon's "enemies list," alleged to have
included Sid's name. Nevertheless, these days their fathers get along
famously, David says. He and Brigid are the parents of Stephen and Eleanor,
whom David says are cute but " headstrong and stubborn, like their parents."
Gary Lezak

Lezak (son of Danny Lezak and Kay Lezak) studied meteorology, his passion,
at the University of Oklahoma. He lives in Kansas City, where he enjoys an
impressive following as a popular television meteorologist.
Harvey Lezak

Lezak (son of Meyer and Mary) and his wife, Linda (Belstock), reside in
Northbrook, Illinois. Their eldest child, Melissa, a 1996 graduate of the
University of Illinois, hopes to earn a graduate degree and teach Spanish.
Daughter Jodie, U of I class of 1998, is pursuing interests in journalism
and advertising. Their son, David, will graduate from Glenbrook North High
School in 1998.
Jeffrey Mayer Lezak

Lezak (son of Seymour and Penny) and his wife, Carol (Spielman), live in
Highland Park, Illinois, with their daughter, Jessica, a talented dancer
who attens Highland Park High School. Jeff is a motgage broker who enjoys
playing the guitar and is a former yo-yo champ. Carol, a native New Yorker,
is a magazine editor.

Lezak (son of Danny Lezak and Kay Lezak) attended UCLA and earned a master's
degree from the Wharton School of business. A computer consultant in Los
Angeles, he and his wife, Ellyn (Kligman), a non practicing CPA, are the
parents of Nechama Rochel, Binyomin, Chava Gittel, Shmuel Shlomo, Chaya Mushka,
Menachem Mendel, and Kasriel . They are actively involved in L.A.'s Chassidic community.

Santa Cruz, in 1995, and has returned to school to study nursing. She

Lezak (son of Alan and Merle), and his wife, Lori Schwarcz, also met as
undergraduates at the University of Illinois. Lori, a student at Rush Medical
School in Chicago, expects to receive her medical degree in 1999. As president
of L&L Packing Company, Joel is continuing the family tradition in the
meat industry, dating back to his great-great-great-grandfather in Russia.

Lezak (son of Mike and Nancy Lezak), a 1991 Yale Alumnus, now lives in southern
California, after having spent several years in New Orleans, where he was
director of Development for Verge Entertainment and was involved with film
projects and public television.

Lezak (son of Marvin and Sylvia) a student of Hebrew Union College-Jewish
Institute of Religion, expects to be ordained as a Reform rabbi in 1999.
He is engaged to Noa Kushner, also a rabbinic student. They plan to marry
inJune 1998, following Noa's graduation from HUC-JIR and ordination
in New York. Noa is following in the footsteps of her father, Rabbi Lawrence
Kushner, of Sudbury, Massachusetts.

Lezak (daughter of Sid and Muriel) lives in Acton, Massachusetts with her
husband, David Martin. A graduate of McGill University, she is a technichal
writer for a Cambridge healthcare software company. David, an alumnus of
the University of Vermont, is a software designer in Boston.

Scott Lezak (son of Danny Lezak and Kay Lezak) and his former wife, JoEllen Stadnik, live in Lake Los Angeles, California. They share in parenting their 2 children, Ashley and Christopher. JoEllen is a radiology technician, specializing in MRI technology. Scott is a freelance videographer and editor, weather spotter for the National Weather Service, Town Council member, as well as the Vice President of the local Chamber of Commerce. Ashley, now 12, would like to earn her degree as an animal biologist and operate a wolf rescue when she grows up. She is on the Principal's Honor roll at school as well as having been Little Miss Lake Los Angele s. Christopher, now 9, is busy being 9. He enjoys cars, music, and video games.
